The “Young Mentor’s Laboratory” was held in Kursk, a project aimed at the development of mentoring in the youth environment of the region. The event was opened by the T.E.F.F.I. musical theater, which created a warm atmosphere, after which the director of the Regional Youth Palace Roman Komov addressed the audience.
The main emphasis was placed on knowledge and skills that will be useful to students in the role of future mentors. Participants attended lectures by invited experts, mastered the basics of mentoring, studied new approaches to working with youth and passed an educational program.
The meaning of the project is to create a scheme “student – student”, in which undergraduates pass on experience to students, help them with the choice of profession and the disclosure of abilities. Mentoring provides not only an opportunity to share knowledge, but also a chance to become more confident, build leadership skills and learn to take responsibility for others.
The project is held within the framework of the All-Russian competition of programs for the integrated development of youth policy "Region for Young" and belongs to the national project "Youth and Children".
