Medical organizations in Karelia actively use digital technologies to diagnose diseases

Digital services are becoming a tool for improving the quality of medical services and are actively included in everyday medical practice.

Since 2024, medical image processing services using artificial intelligence have been introduced in healthcare institutions of the Republic of Karelia.

Medical organizations with digital diagnostic equipment are connected to the Moscow City Platform “MosMedia”. After the patient is examined, the digital image is automatically uploaded to a single radiological information system. The platform’s AI service then performs its remote analysis.

For the processing of AI, specialists direct images obtained during computed tomography of the chest, brain, mammography, chest x-rays, fluorography. Smart algorithms find signs of pathologies on medical images, automatically make measurements necessary for a radiologist to prepare a conclusion.

The obtained results help doctors to make diagnoses faster, with high accuracy and identify diseases in the early stages. It is important that the final conclusion is made by humans, not artificial intelligence.
