The results of the creative contest “Best impressions from the National Library of Belarus”, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of its new building, were summed up in Minsk. The joint project of the main library of the country and the publishing house “Belarus Today” brought together many readers, authors and connoisseurs of literature.

The organizers invited the participants to share the most vivid personal stories - about the first reader's ticket, an unexpected find on the shelf, a view from the observation platform. As competitive works, author's texts were accepted - essays, stories, poems and sketches, which many supplemented with their own photos and illustrations.
The jury noted the high level of work and sincerity of the authors, who turned the official pages of the history of the library into a living emotional almanac.
The winner of the Grand Prix of the competition was Igor Miganovich and his work “Silhouette of Fate”. The first place was given to Daria Arkhipkova with the work “Those who make a library – a library”, the second was given to Anna Harlap, the work “For the embroidery of the library – for any da Belarus”, the third – Marina Mozhey and her work “The main library of the country: how one excursion became part of my pedagogical life”.
The award ceremony will be held on October 29 at the National Library.
The organizers stressed that the contest was another reason to remember that the library is not only books and walls, but also people, their stories, their impressions.
