Sentenced 50-year-old previously repeatedly convicted citizen, who evaded reimbursement of expenses spent by the state on the maintenance of his daughters who are on state support, told the correspondent of the Agency “Minsk-Novosti” in the Prosecutor’s office of the Oktyabrsky district.
The accused has two daughters in respect of whom he is deprived of parental rights. One of the girls is now an adult, and the second is still on state security. According to the court ruling, the father, starting from January 2013, is obliged to pay monthly funds for their maintenance.
Since January 2020, the man has been employed by a worker in one of the municipal organizations of the capital, but he regularly allowed absenteeism for disrespectful reasons, which entailed incomplete fulfillment of monthly obligations to reimburse the costs spent by the state for the maintenance of his daughters.
Employees of the enforcement department repeatedly tried to reason with the citizen, warned about responsibility, but he did not attach any importance to their words. As a result, another criminal case was opened against him.
Guilt in the court hearing, the defendant fully admitted, repented.
- The accused does not have a permanent registration and place of residence, is officially employed, but does not appear at work, has previously been brought to criminal responsibility twice, including for committing a similar crime, said Ilona Zinkovskaya, assistant prosecutor of the Oktyabrsky district, who acted in this criminal case as a state prosecutor. The court found him guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 174 of the Criminal Code ("Father evasion from the maintenance of children or from reimbursement of expenses spent by the state for the maintenance of children who are or were on state support"), and imposed a punishment of three months of arrest. In addition, he must undergo compulsory treatment for chronic alcoholism.
The sentence has not come into force, can be appealed and challenged in accordance with the procedure established by law.
