For the first time, a forum of women scientists will be held in Minsk

The first forum of women scientists “The role of women in science and education” will be held in Minsk on September 25. The initiators of the event were the heads of primary organizations of the Belarusian Union of Women of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and BSU, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

Olga Shpilevskaya, Chairman of the Belarusian Women’s Union, noted that many events are held for the first time in the Year of the Belarusian Woman, including a forum of women scientists. Among its tasks is the popularization of work in science among women, as well as the development of joint work and interaction.

The plenary session and part of the sections will be held in the NAS of Belarus, three more sections will be hosted by the BSU.

The program will cover biotechnology and biomedicine, materials of the future, digital development, humanities and social sciences. A separate section of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education will be devoted to the contribution of young women to science and strengthening the country's economy.

- Girls from literally every corner of the country will take part, talk about their current research and prospects, share their findings and, of course, discuss the problems they face, said Deputy Minister of Education Ekaterina Petrutskaya.

The forum is designed to help attract young people to scientific, scientific and pedagogical activities, as well as to create a platform for the exchange of experience between beginners and already established researchers.
