In the Orel region, annual inflation was lower than in Russia as a whole

Prices in the Orel region in August 2026, according to Rosstat, almost unchanged. This is reported in the press service of the regional branch of the Bank of Russia.

Annual inflation in the region rose to 5.83%. This is lower than in the whole country. In August, non-food products rose in price, and prices for food and services fell. During the year, prices rose in all three categories. At the same time, the growth in the cost of non-food goods and services was higher than inflation in the region. Products for 12 months have risen moderately.

With the exception of seasonality, prices rose less in August than in July. One of the reasons is the correction of the cost of certain non-food products after a noticeable increase a month earlier.

Annual inflation in Russia increased in August. It was 6.33%. At the same time, prices in August, excluding seasonality, increased less than in July. Significantly slowed down the growth of the cost of motor fuel. At the same time, its sharp rise in price in recent months was manifested in the prices of many goods and services. The increase in the value of what is less dependent on one-off factors and more on demand has slowed down slightly. The Bank of Russia will continue to pursue monetary policy to reduce inflation to 4%.
