The new creation of the famous author Mariusz Vilk, the book “Procidiade”, was presented to the public in Petrozavodsk. This event was reported by the community of the gallery “Hooligan Art”.
The event, held on October 22 in the walls of the gallery "Hooligan Art", was devoted to a deep immersion in the themes of the North, the Solovetsky Islands and a kind of refraction of the Russian language through the prism of the Polish perception.
Wilk describes himself as “a Russian writer who creates texts in Polish.” His work is distinguished by a unique fusion of images: the harsh ice of the White Sea is harmoniously combined with the comfort of hot tea, and historical and political realities are intertwined with the aroma of pine resin. The author skillfully builds a bridge between two cultural spaces: from Solovki to Karelia, from the Solidarity movement to the northern expanses of Russia.
As the organizers shared, despite the outward calm prevailing in the gallery, our collection was filled with meaning. We met to discuss the North, the Solovetsky Islands and how the Russian language is finding a new meaning in the Polish soul.
