ANO “Eurasia”, Rossotrudnichestvo and the Ombudsman in the Russian Federation held meetings with representatives of Mali, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Seychelles and Togo.
Following the meetings, the parties signed a number of memorandums and agreements providing for joint projects in the field of education, culture, social support and protection of the rights of citizens.
Presidents of Mozambique Daniel Shapu, Mali Assimi Goita, Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa and Madagascar Mikael Randrianirina participated in the meetings.
One of the areas of cooperation can be the creation of centers of Russian language and culture.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ANO Eurasia, Chairman of PJSC PSB Bank Petr Fradkov noted that the organization is ready to share experience in implementing educational, social and infrastructure projects.
We are ready to share our experience with our partners and jointly identify initiatives that meet the needs of each party. An important part of this work will be the opening of Russian Language and Culture Centers, he said.
President of Mozambique Daniel Shapu stressed the demand for learning Russian among young people.
The head of Rossotrudnichestvo Igor Chaika also called the promotion of the Russian language one of the priorities of the agency in Africa.
“An important area of our activity is the promotion of the Russian language. More than 4,500 people study Russian at our institutions in Africa. One of our programs to promote learning is the annual supply of educational literature: educational, methodical, scientific, artistic and other literature in demand for training in various countries. We are also moving to the principle of target recruitment: students will study in the areas necessary for the various sectors of the economy of their countries. After graduation, they will be able to return to their homeland and contribute to the development of their country and strengthening relations with Russia, he said.
A separate block of agreements concerns the protection of the rights of citizens. Russian Ombudsman Yana Lantratova proposed the creation of bilateral centers to support compatriots. Such platforms, according to her plan, will be able to help citizens solve emerging issues.
Another topic of the talks was the financial infrastructure necessary for the development of bilateral cooperation. Mikhail Dorofeev, Deputy Chairman of PSB Bank, spoke about the A7 payment system and its opportunities for cross-border payments. The company allows you to choose partners, currencies and payment methods. “For Russia and African countries, this is the basis of financial sovereignty and long-term equal cooperation,” Dorofeev concluded.
