In the Smolensk region completed the fifth anniversary profile historical and patriotic shift “Volunteers of Victory”. The main goal of the event was to teach participants practical skills necessary for further public and volunteer activities. The shift brought together about 100 activists aged 12 to 17, representing all municipal districts in the region. The venue was a new children's camp "Eagle" in Krasnoy Bor, on the basis of which now operates the Center for Patriotic Education.

The program, held under the motto “Smolensk – Youth Capital: History through the Ages”, focused on preserving historical memory and involving young people in socially significant projects. The participants had the opportunity to communicate with outstanding personalities: Hero of Russia, participants in a special military operation and local conflicts, as well as veterans-blockaders and former prisoners of concentration camps.

The educational and cultural component of the shift included a variety of classes. In addition to thematic lectures on history, the students attended master classes on countering terrorism and fire safety, as well as engaged in Russian folk dances and games. The program also included career guidance events and memorable events, such as creating the image of Vasily Terkin from candles as part of the “Fiery Picture of the War” campaign and holding the Evening of Memory dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.

An important part of the program was a meeting with State Duma deputy Artem Turov in the format of “Dialogue on Equals”. During the open conversation, the parliamentarian discussed with young people not only political aspects, but also the possibilities of active participation of young people in the life of the state. The parties touched upon issues of public administration, youth policy, the election process to the State Duma and the development of the education system. The participants also discussed the problem of spreading fake news on the Internet. Artem Turov noted the lively nature of the dialogue and expressed gratitude to the children for their active position and interesting questions.
