As well as a reminder to future generations of the courage, dedication and loyalty to the oath of all those who stood and stand guard over the borders of our country.
A monument was erected on the initiative of the 5th Andropov Border Detachment. And the bronze border guard has an outward resemblance to the legendary border guard, Hero of the Soviet Union Andrei Andreyev. Before the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he was appointed head of the 5th Red Banner Border Detachment of the NKVD troops stationed near Leningrad.
