In Vitebsk, in a solemn atmosphere, a workshop was opened, where the production of powder and granular veterinary drugs was established. The production site belongs to the Russian VIC Group of Companies, BelTA reports.

The project was implemented within the framework of the State Program of Innovative Development of the Republic of Belarus with the financial support of the Innovation Fund of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The founder of the VIK Group of Companies Victoria Violina noted the significant support from the state authorities.
To accommodate the new workshop No. 14, a production and warehouse building was built, which includes two separate sites for the production of powder and granular veterinary drugs. A separate line is allocated for the manufacture of granules, which, thanks to closed execution, guarantees high quality of finished products.
The total design capacity of the new workshop will be about 1.7 thousand tons of products per year. The production of granular antibiotics will double from 700 to 1.4 tons per year. An important social effect for the region was the creation of 26 jobs, 15 of which are completely new. Here will work apparatchiks and technologists.
As Ilya Kurganov, Director of the IPUE “VIC Animal Health” – the production site of the VIC Group of Companies – emphasized, more than 90% of the drugs produced in the workshop are planned to be supplied to foreign markets. This is a real opportunity for the company to increase its presence in foreign markets, and for the region to increase exports of pharmaceutical products with high added value. We expect to develop long-term cooperation with domestic and foreign partners, for whom not only the range and price are important, but also the stability of supplies, the quality of drugs and compliance with the requirements of their markets, Kurganov said.
He also shared his plans for the future: In three years we will meet again here at the same venue. We have plans to build a new pharmaceutical plant. These are four sites that will produce injectable drugs, suspensions, tablets, and sector-pellent drugs.”.
Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Angelika Nikitina noted that the pharmaceutical and biotech industries are already well known to the region. The main task set by the Head of State is to identify and develop the competencies and internal strategic potential of each region. She expressed confidence that joint initiatives and the readiness of local authorities to implement them will bring significant results in the future.
