In Voronezh, ophthalmologists restored vision to the patient after nine years of illness
This was reported in the Voronezh Ministry of Health

In the Voronezh Regional Clinical Ophthalmological Hospital, a man complained of vision impairment and a dark spot in front of the right eye. He suffered from the disease for almost ten years, the Voronezh Ministry of Health reported.
When examined, the visual acuity was only 0.4. The patient had a detachment of the neuroepithelium in the central parts of the retina and secondary atrophic changes in the pigment epithelium, developed due to the long course of the disease. The patient was diagnosed with chronic central serous chorioretinopathy.
The disease is characterized by a wave-like course, in which symptoms appear, then recede. The longer the disease lasts, the more pronounced atrophic changes are, which directly affects the prognosis of treatment.
But despite the presence of zones of atrophy, the operation allowed the doctors to return the patient one hundred percent vision.
Intervention planning was carried out on electronic copies of the fundus. The doctors performed a two-step operation: focal laser coagulation of seepage points and subthreshold micropulse laser exposure, reducing the risk of damage to the structures of the retina.
At the moment, the man’s vision remains stable.
