In the Voronezh region are considering a ban on the sale of vapes

In the Voronezh Regional Duma, a round table was held on the issues of controlling the spread of vapes. The event was held by Andrei Rogatnev, Head of the Committee on Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Tourism Development. During the meeting, new opportunities of the regions were considered: from March 1, 2027 to March 1, 2032, the subjects of the Federation will have the right to introduce a ban on the retail sale of electronic nicotine delivery systems and liquids to them.

The parliamentarians noted that the federal legislation already contains a provision on the inadmissibility of selling nicotine-containing products to persons under the age of majority, but in fact this measure is not effective enough. In this regard, both additional restrictive measures and the option of a complete ban on the sale of such devices in the region were discussed. Among the announced initiatives are the prevention of placing shopping facilities near educational, sports and medical institutions, reducing the volume of outdoor advertising, as well as the hidden layout of devices and liquids.

The meeting participants emphasized that the decision should be considered: in addition to prohibitions, it is also important to educate the younger generation of a conscious approach to their own health. As a result of the round table, it was decided to prepare a regional bill that will take into account the practice of other subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as to amend the regional law on administrative offenses.

Earlier it was reported that seven out of ten Voronezh residents supported a lifetime ban on the sale of vapes to young people.
