Vasily Anokhin: 80th anniversary of the Smolensk College of Railway Transport, Communications and Service – one of the leading educational institutions of the SPO region

Smolensk College of Railway Transport, Communications and Service is 80 years old. In honor of this significant date, solemn events were held in one of the leading educational institutions of secondary vocational education in the region, uniting teachers, students, graduates and veterans of the educational institution.

The history of the technical school dates back to the post-war years, when the region was in dire need of skilled workers. Over the past decades, the educational institution has passed a significant path of development, expanding the areas of training together with the region, while the desire to give young people quality education remained unchanged. Today, almost a thousand students are trained here to work in railway transport, service and catering. Modern workshops, laboratories and specialized training platforms allow students to receive not only theoretical knowledge, but also the necessary practical skills.

Special attention is paid to interaction with employers who participate in the development of educational programs, provide platforms for practice and help students to master professional competencies. Over the past four years, 345 targeted training contracts have been concluded. Students of the institution adequately represent the Smolensk region at various competitions: for example, in 2026, a student Daria Bulgakova received a medallion “For professionalism” in the competence of “Cooking” at the Interregional Championship “Professionals”.

The Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin congratulated the staff of the technical school, veterans of pedagogical work, students and graduates on their 80th anniversary. He expressed gratitude to teachers and masters of industrial training for their dedication and high professionalism. The head of the region also wished the educational institution further development and new achievements, and students - interesting study, self-confidence and great professional victories.

Such anniversaries emphasize the sustainable role of specialized secondary educational institutions in the formation of the personnel potential of the region. Close cooperation of the technical school with specialized enterprises guarantees graduates demand in the labor market and contributes to the economic development of the Smolensk region. Preserving the traditions of quality education in combination with modern approaches to training allows the institution to successfully solve the problems of training new generations of specialists.
