In Vsevolozhsk, the Prosecutor’s office found a dangerous ramp and an uncomfortable toilet for the disabled

In Vsevolozhsk, the Prosecutor’s Office revealed violations of the requirements of the accessible environment in the building of the Bureau of Medical and Social Expertise. People with disabilities faced obstacles when visiting the institution. This was reported in the Prosecutor’s office of the Leningrad region.

The inspection showed that parking spaces for disabled people were not marked with the necessary road signs, and the staff call button was installed at the wrong height. Before the ramp there were no tactile signs for visually impaired and blind visitors, and its flooring was not highlighted by a contrasting strip.

Violations were also found in the sanitary room. The handrail near the washbasin interfered with the entrance of the wheelchair, the mixer had no elbow or sensor control. In addition, there were no alarms and hooks for clothes and crutches in the toilet.

As a result of the inspection, the prosecutor’s office made a submission to the head of the Main Bureau of Medical and Social Expertise in the Leningrad region. After its review, the institution has eliminated all violations identified.
