Volgograd residents told how many weekends will be in 2027
In 2027, residents of the Volgograd region, working on a five-day schedule, are waiting for 118 weekends and holidays. The workers will be 247 days.
The longest will be the New Year holidays. Russians will be able to rest 11 days in a row - from December 31, 2026 to January 10, 2027 inclusive. The first working day after the holidays is Monday, January 11.
Several more extended rest periods are planned throughout the year. In February, the weekend will last from the 21st to the 23rd, in March - from the 6th to the 8th. May holidays will be divided into two stages: you can relax from 1 to 3 May and from 8 to 10. Between them will remain four working days - from 4 to 7 May.
In June, the days from the 12th to the 14th will be non-working in connection with the celebration of the Day of Russia. In November, an additional day off will extend the rest to the National Unity Day: the days from the 4th to the 7th will be non-working. In addition, the weekend will be December 31, 2027.
How the weekends were moved
The rest schedule was approved by the decree of the Russian government of September 17, 2026 No. 1187. According to the document, the day off from Saturday January 2 was postponed to Friday November 5, from Sunday January 3 to Friday December 31. Another transfer touched on February: the weekend from Saturday February 20 was postponed to Monday February 22. Therefore, February 20 will be a working day, but a shortened one.
In accordance with Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, the presence of holidays in a month is not the basis for a salary reduction. If an employee has fully fulfilled the established monthly norm, his salary should not be reduced due to long weekends.
The calendar is designed for a five-day working week with weekends on Saturday and Sunday. For employees with shift schedules, rest days are determined by the schedule and may not coincide with general holiday periods. In some regions, additional non-working holidays may also be established.
