Volgograd residents were told in which cases a QR code from Gosusluzh will replace a passport

You can buy alcohol, get insurance or visit a theater in Russia by presenting a digital code instead of a passport. However, such identification is valid only in organizations connected to the State Dock system, and the original document will still be required in government agencies and security facilities.

Volgograd residents were told in which cases a QR code from Gosusluzh will replace a passport

More about the innovation was told by a member of the Association of lawyers of Russia Alexei Sinitsyn. According to RIA Novosti, a digital QR-code from the "State Services" is now a full-fledged alternative to a paper document when buying alcohol, receiving parcels, servicing in financial organizations, as well as when entering museums with an age qualification.

The main catch that the expert warns about is that the code is dynamic. Taking a screenshot and showing it later will not work, as it is updated every few minutes for security reasons.

In addition, the reader must be installed in a particular institution through the "State Docks" system. At the same time, in state institutions and at security facilities, you will still be asked to present the original, so it is better to grab a paper passport for important meetings to avoid technical overlays.
