Volgograd doctors ruled out cancer in a patient with suspected metastases
Doctors of the Volgograd Regional Clinical Oncology Dispensary helped to establish the cause of the malaise of an 80-year-old man who was sent for examination with suspected metastases in the bones.

Thanks to an additional diagnostic study, doctors excluded cancer and found another serious pathology. This is reported by Oblzdrav 34.
Initial examinations did not allow specialists to obtain sufficient data for an accurate diagnosis. Then the head of the Department of X-ray diagnostics Ekaterina Tokareva proposed to conduct a two-energy computed tomography of the joints.
This technology allows for more detailed images by using two types of X-rays. The study helped doctors detect signs of inflammatory joint disease. The assumption confirmed an additional blood test.
After clarifying the diagnosis, the man was sent to a specialized medical institution, where he undergoes the necessary treatment.
The development of a modern healthcare system and improving the quality of medical care in the Volgograd region are among the priorities outlined by Governor Andrey Bocharov. This work is carried out within the framework of the national project “Long and active life”.
