Voronezh court sent into custody three defendants in the case of Shawarma

The left-bank district court of Voronezh considered the petitions of the investigation on the measure of restraint for three people suspected of trafficking in unmarked goods as part of an organized group.
According to the investigation, the defendants rented a room where they established the production of food without marking - we are talking about pickled blanks for shawarma. To do this, they purchased equipment for meat processing, including tables for cutting and devices for stringing shawarma. The finished products were transported to catering points. During the inspection, 104 units of semi-finished poultry products intended for sale, but not marked, were found and seized. The examination confirmed that the products did not contain information on the date of manufacture, conditions and terms of storage, as well as data on the manufacturer and his address.
On 7 and 8 October, the court, having examined the case file, granted the investigator’s request and detained all three suspects for two months. The reason was that the defendants do not have registration or permanent residence in Russia, which means that they can hide from the investigation or interfere with the investigation.
