Genic District resident convicted of fraud and false denunciation

The Genic District Court of the Kherson region sentenced in a criminal case against a 55-year-old local resident. He was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud) and Part 1 of Art. 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (knowingly false denunciation of a crime).

The court found that in may last year, the convict received from his friend in temporary possession of a car “Lada Priora” for repair work and the organization of further sale. In July of the same year, the car was sold.

However, the man misappropriated the proceeds from the sale of 200 thousand rubles and for several months misled the owner of the vehicle, claiming that the car is still under repair and is preparing for sale.

In addition, at the end of November 2025, the man went to the police with a deliberately false statement, accusing an unidentified person of stealing a large sum from the pocket of his trousers. After registration of the application and its verification, it turned out that the information reported is not true. At the same time, the perpetrator was warned about criminal liability for false denunciation, but this did not stop him.

Guilt in the committed crimes, the man admitted completely, repented and compensated for the damage in full.

The court, taking into account the opinion of the public prosecutor, imposed a penalty of mandatory work for a period of 400 hours.
