Residents of Shakht collected more than 5 thousand signatures for preferential travel on M-4 Don

In the Rostov region, a campaign against the introduction of tolls on the reconstructed section of the M-4 Don highway is gaining momentum. A petition demanding a preferential tariff has already been supported by more than five thousand people. Signatures are collected in Shakhts, Novoshakhtinsk, Krasnosulinsky and Oktyabrsky districts.

The reason was the decision of Avtodor to pay for the section of the highway in the Shakht area after the completion of reconstruction - the payment point is planned to be placed at Persianovka on the 1021st kilometer of the highway. Work on the segment from 933rd to 1024th kilometer began in 2024, their cost is estimated at 109.4 billion rubles, and completion is scheduled for 2027.

According to preliminary estimates, the road from Shakht to Rostov will cost drivers about a thousand rubles, although the final tariff has not yet been approved. For comparison: bypassing Aksai costs 380-450 rubles, and the site at the settlement of Degtevo - 200-250 rubles.

According to activists, a free alternative – a detour through Novocherkassk – is not a full replacement. As noted by lawyer Elena Anikeeva, only in Novocherkassk drivers will have to overcome 24 traffic lights, and travel time instead of one and a half hours will exceed two.

Every day, tens of thousands of residents of Shakht go to Rostov - to study, work and hospitals. Activists fear that the paid plot will become an exorbitant burden on family budgets, and the city roads of Novocherkassk will not withstand the increased traffic.
