52-year-old resident of Karelia lost 334 thousand rubles, becoming a victim of a multi-stage scheme scammers. This is reported by the Republican interior Ministry.

The attackers called a local resident, posing as employees of the management organization. Under the pretext of installing a new intercom in the entrance, they convinced the woman to dictate the code from the received SMS message. Immediately after that, people posing as specialists of the portal “State Services” came into contact, who reported the hacking of her personal account.

To complete the deception, the victim was linked to an alleged employee of the Central Bank. To save the savings, the scammers persuaded the victim to urgently take a credit card and transfer all borrowed funds to a phone number dictated by them, which belonged to a certain Christina.

After the victim realized what had happened, she went to the police. A criminal case was opened under the article “Fraud on a large scale”.
