Residents of Komi told about the possible abolition of mandatory residence permit

Residents of Komi were warned that mandatory registration at the place of residence can be replaced by voluntary. This initiative was made in the state Duma. According to the authors, in the age of digital data, mandatory registration is an outdated barrier that only complicates life.

The draft law on voluntary registration has already been submitted for consideration. It is planned to be finalized taking into account the comments. According to the idea, the person simply reports the move, rather than getting permission. Registration stamps and military obligations in the passport will remain mandatory.
