Forget about the usual crackling, but stable frosts. Climatologists, analyzing forecast models for December 2026 – February 2027, sound the alarm: the coming winter will be a real test of strength due to its extreme instability.

The main danger lies not in record minuses, but in frantic temperature jumps. January promises to be especially critical: in just one day, the thermometer can make a culbite of 20-25 degrees. Morning thaw with rain in the evening will be replaced by a hard frost.

Such a regime is guaranteed to lead to protracted and insidious ice, which will become the main enemy of the western regions of Russia. Snow is also distributed unfairly: while some areas are at risk of celebrating holidays without snowdrifts at all, others will be covered by powerful cyclones that can pour out a monthly rainfall in just a couple of weeks. This contrasting picture will put a tremendous strain on utilities and rescue workers across the country.

Experts have already made clear recommendations. Utilities are ordered to keep under strict control the formation of ice on roofs and sidewalks. Motorists are strongly advised not to delay with “re-shoes”: the asphalt will change its condition right before the eyes, from wet to ice, within one day.

A separate wake-up call for weather-sensitive people and "cores." Prolonged atmospheric swings are a huge physiological stress for the body. Doctors urge hypertensive patients to monitor the pressure daily and not ignore the alarming symptoms, promptly turning to doctors.
