Belarus hockey team not allowed to participate in the world Cup-2027

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) did not allow the national teams of Belarus to participate in the World Cup 2027 and the youth World Cup-2027. This is reported on the IIHF website.

The decision of the IIHF Council was taken following the verdict of the IIHF Disciplinary Committee, which partially satisfied the appeal of the Ice Hockey Federation of Belarus against the decisions of the Council of July 27, 2026. In its conclusion, the disciplinary committee confirmed the absence of legal grounds for making a decision on the immediate restoration of the participation of the national teams of Belarus in the competitions, the statement said.

Belarus national teams have been suspended since 2022.

On October 30, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ordered IIHF to allow Russian teams to participate in international tournaments. At the same time, the IIHF still did not make decisions on the participation of Russian teams in competitions under the auspices of the organization.
