Billionaire financiers Todd Beauley and Mark Walter have sold their stakes in London's Chelsea to Clearlake Capital Group. The company became the sole owner of the football club.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed. The press service of Chelsea also reported that Todd Beauley resigned as chairman of the board of directors of the club.
“Clearlake intends to continue to develop the strategic direction on which the club is now and to realize the ambitions that the group of owners has developed together,” the statement said. It is noted that the shareholder and partner in the group of owners will remain Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wiss, who will turn 91 in September.
In May 2022, the BlueCo consortium led by Todd Beauley bought Chelsea from Roman Abramovich for £4.25 billion. After the sale, the club took two trophies: in 2025, Londoners won the Conference League and became winners of the Club World Cup.
