Freedom Holding Corp. will become the general partner of the match for the chess crown

Freedom Holding Corp. will act as the general partner of the match for the title of world chess champion. This “Kommersant” reported in the press service of the holding.

The match for the chess crown will be held in Geneva from November 22 to December 13. It will be attended by the current world champion Indian Gukesh Dommaraju, for whom this will be the first defense of the title, and the contender Zhavohir Sindarov from Uzbekistan, the winner of the World Cup and the Candidates Tournament. Both grandmasters at the start of the match will be 20 years old, which will make it the youngest in the history of the world championships by age of participants.

The match for the title of world champion is the main event in the chess calendar, but the power of chess is formed not only within one tournament. It depends on strong national federations, opportunities for young players, qualified coaches, education, technology and long-term partnerships. He is also the head of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation. In September, Mr. Turlov will take part in the FIDE presidential election.
