The Russian Football Union (RFU) and sports brand JOGEL presented a new equipment of the national team. Home and guest game sets were developed, as well as a parade and training collection.
The design was based on the first chord of the Russian anthem, translated from sound to graphics. His sound wave was digitized, translated into mathematical graphics and became part of the visual structure of the form. So music and mathematics, emotion and logic, national tradition and modern sports language met in one design, the RFU said in a statement.
Both sets are made of special textured jacquard. The home form is made in burgundy color. On the inside of the collar are placed the words “Russia is our sacred power”. On the guest set of white is the final line of the anthem: “Glory, country!” We're proud of you! The collar, sleeves and lateral parts of the form are bordered by blue elements.
“The national team shirt is a symbol. It has to do with the feeling of defending your country and its honor. And this image reflects the history of our victories – sports and not only, said Secretary General Maxim Mitrofanov. JOGEL founder Arthur Movsesyan said the form should “mean more than just a new collection for the season”: “We took something that unites millions of people and is not directly translated into the language of design – the voice of the country, the sound of its anthem – and for the first time we were able to make it visible.”.
The first outing of the Russian team on the field in new equipment is scheduled for September 29 - the team will play against the Iranian team. Meetings will also be held with Namibians (October 3) and Nigerians (October 6).
On September 24, the new uniform will be presented to fans offline at the Lamoda Sport store in Moscow. The presentation will be attended by the head coach of the national team Valery Karpin, football players Konstantin Tyukavin, Nail Umyarov and Ivan Oblyakov, as well as Arthur Movsesyan.
