On November 7, Governor Denis Pasler in his social networks announced the readiness of the region to host the Russian Figure Skating Championship, noting that the Grand Prix of Russia in figure skating “Gold of the Urals” in the capital of the Urals is a weighty argument for making the appropriate decision.
Speaking about the Grand Prix of Russia in figure skating "Gold of the Urals", the head of the region noted that it is a great honor for Yekaterinburg to host competitions of this level (more than 11 years after the Russian Championship in 2015, there were no such tournaments in the city).
“I am sure that the competition will be a weighty argument for the Russian Figure Skating Federation, so that our application is supported and the Russian Championship will be held on the Ural ice!” said Denis Pasler.
The Governor noted that the sports infrastructure of the Sverdlovsk region is regularly updated. Today, there are 15 world-class sports facilities in the region, including UMMC-Arena, which hosts participants and guests of the Grand Prix.
“Today at the opening ceremony, very precise words were heard: the gold medal always has one name – the name of the winner, but behind each victory is the work of many people.” Families, coaches, friends, sports teams and anyone who provides the opportunity to train athletes. I completely agree with this, Denis Pasler wrote, noting that figure skating is in demand in the region (more than 18,000 people are engaged in it), and promising to continue developing sports infrastructure and supporting athletes.
