In Dzerzhinsk will open an updated city stadium

- We do not have anything eternal, and our stadium was quite old, says the director of Dzerzhinsk FOC Alexandra Gerasenko. The arena did not meet the requirements of our athletes and sports fans. Therefore, a few years ago, it was decided to carry out a large-scale reconstruction.

Significant work has been done to renovate the arena. The number of seats increased by 580. Now the capacity of the stands is 1680 people. Four 30-meter lighting masts are installed at the stadium. This will allow you to play games in the evening and add entourage. Additional lighting has also been added, allowing residents to come to the stadium in the evening and play sports.

It is worth noting that on the territory of the arena there is a basketball, mini-football courts, various multifunctional simulators.

The last match of the local football team Arsenal in Dzerzhinsk is dated November 21, 2020. Since then, the team has held its “home” matches in Minsk, Gorodey and Borisov. Six years later, the Gunners will be able to return to Dzerzhinsk. After all, as Alexandra Gerasenko emphasized, now the stadium meets the requirements of the football federation for hosting major league matches.

- We are very happy to return to Dzerzhinsk, said Alexey Meleshkevich, founder and owner of FC Arsenal, on the air of the program “Results of the Week” on the Belarus 5 TV channel. Of course, for Dzerzhinsk this is a debut in the major leagues, and we expect a full stadium. I think that a lot of people will walk, because there are activities here, and trade, and catering. Maybe the stadium is small, modest, but its own and new. We see mast lighting, new stands and modular changing rooms, so now there will be no such problem as before, that in the locker rooms had to go, say, on a pedestrian crossing. Today everything is in place, everything is compact. Thanks to the neighborhood, the area.

The first official game at the new stadium will be held on October 9. On this day, Arsenal will host Brest Dynamo.

STARS IN THE FIELD

On September 19, within the framework of the regional holiday "Dazhynki-2026" in Dzerzhinsk, a friendly match will be held at the stadium between the team of "stars", which will be led by the famous coach Anatoly Baidachny, and the national team of the Minsk region, at the helm of which the head coach of the team "Molodechno" Yuri Puntus will be at the helm.
