Kaliningrad Angela Gasparyan won the second stage of the World Cup in combat sambo in the weight category over 80 kg. The tournament was held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

In the quarterfinals, Gasparyan defeated an athlete from Uzbekistan Mavluda Abullaeva. The opponent lasted 3 minutes 31 seconds. In the next round, Kaliningradka defeated world champion Nuril Asankyzy from Kazakhstan in 53 seconds.
The final was to be held between two Russian athletes - Gasparyan and Kristina Makieva from North Ossetia. However, due to an eye injury, doctors removed Makieva from the fight 43 seconds after it began.
