Alexandra Sasnovich (WTA: 112) completed her performance at the WTA 500 tournament with a prize pool of $1,206,446 in Tokyo. In the game of the 1/8 finals, the Belarusian tennis player lost to the Russian Diana Schneider (WTA: 13) - 3:6, 7:5, 3:6, reports sb.by.

Starting the promotion on the tournament grid with qualification, the second racket of our country defeated Ukrainian Yulia Starodubtseva (WTA: 54) (6:4, 7:5), Camilla Rakhimova from Uzbekistan (WTA: 66) (6:4, 6:4) and Nikola Bartunkova from the Czech Republic (WTA: 29) (6:4, 6:7, 6:3). Today, on October 28, the Belarusian also played high-level tennis. However, Diana Schneider, who received the third number of seeding from the organizers of the tournament, still failed.
During the first set, Alexander Sasnovich conceded - 1: 4, then was able to reduce the difference to a minimum, but in the end the Russian took two games in a row. The second game also turned out to be very stubborn and in many ways equal, but this time the Belarusian turned out to be a little more accurate and lucky, making one break more (three against two). However, to develop success in the third set failed. Diana Schneider scored three times at the reception, without holding only one game on his own serve, and this allowed the Russian to close the match in his favor.

Last year, the winner of this tournament in the women's singles category was Swiss Belinda Bencic, who in the final was stronger than Linda Noskova from the Czech Republic (6: 2, 6: 3). Sobolenko retained second place, Sasnovich rose ten positions in the ranking of the Women's Tennis Association
