Alexandra Sasnovich failed to overcome the starting barrier in doubles at the WTA 500 tournament in Singapore. The Belarusian tennis player played in tandem with Anna-Lena Fridzam from Germany, writes sb.by.

The Belarusian-German couple in the first round failed to cope with New Zealander Erin Rutliff and Indonesian Aldila Sutjiadi. There was quite a tough fight in the starting line. Sasnovich and Friedzam lost 2-4 on games, but still managed to complete the set in their favor. But in the second game, the opponents completely dominated the court. As a result, the winners decided on a super tie-break. The final score is 5:7, 6:0, 10:6 in favor of Rutliff and Sutjiady.
In Singapore, Sasnovich played in singles. Belarus reached the 1/8 finals, where she lost to Russian Mirra Andreeva.
