IIHF Council has not decided on the decision on the admission of Russians
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) failed to make a final decision on the participation of Russian teams in international tournaments

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) failed to make a final decision on the participation of Russian teams in international tournaments. The extension of the meeting of the Council of the organization until November 5 did not bring clarity to this issue.
Initially scheduled for November 2-3 hearings were extended, but the final verdict on the Russian teams was not announced. According to sources, “no clarity on the current situation will not be.”.
This development follows the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which last week confirmed the right of Russian hockey teams to perform on the international stage. The court also pointed to the lack of arguments on the part of the IIHF to justify the suspension of Russian athletes from tournaments held under the auspices of the federation.
Against the background of the current situation, a number of national federations, including from Norway, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Denmark and Austria, expressed their intention to boycott matches with the participation of Russian teams. At the same time, Slovakia and Belarus supported the return of the Russian national teams, and the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation took a wait-and-see position.
