In the Kotlas district, initiatives are being implemented to popularize sports

In the village of Shipitsyno, thanks to a regional project, a modern gym for a children's and youth sports school appeared.

The project of the initiative group of residents “It is necessary to pump up” was supported by villagers, and in 2026 he won the program “Comfort Pomorie”. 405 thousand rubles were allocated for the purchase of multifunctional simulators.

The institution stressed that the new location will improve the quality of training for beginner athletes and will contribute to the popularization of physical education – local residents will also be able to engage.

According to the director of the sports school Natalia Neradovskaya, the idea to create a modern hall appeared in 2025, when the institution moved from an emergency building built in 1913 to the premises of the former kindergarten and began to equip new squares.

“We really wanted to update the fund of simulators, and the project “Comfort Pomorie” was a good opportunity,” she said. With financial support, we ordered the necessary simulators at the manufacturing plant.

The equipment has already been tested by coaches and young athletes.

Pupils of DYUSS are engaged in ski racing, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, mini-football, OFP, sports tourism and Russian draughts and annually show decent results. During the holidays, there is a children’s sports camp with a day stay, so the school plans to further develop the infrastructure.
