Tomorrow, on November 8, in Elektrogorsk near Moscow, a farewell ceremony will be held with the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, Olympic hockey champion Mikhail Vasiliev. The athlete died on November 5 at the 65th year of life after a five-year battle with lung cancer.

According to the press service of the St. Petersburg SKA, where Vasilyev recently worked in the coaching staff, the civil funeral service and funeral service will begin at 12:00 in the Church of All Saints in the land of the Russian Shining (St. Constantine, 9).

The funeral of the legend of Soviet hockey, the eight-time champion of the USSR in CSKA and the world champion in 1983, will be held at the city cemetery of Elektrogorsk immediately after the ceremony - in the interval from 12:40 to 13:00.

Recall that in addition to the gold of the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo, Vasiliev’s assets include silver of the 1987 World Cup, bronze of 1985, as well as two victories in the Italian championship as part of the Bolzano club.
