In the Colombian city of Cartagena, the World Kickboxing Championship was held, where the Russian team performed with a flag and anthem, and athletes from Ugra brought the team four awards at once. During the week of intense struggle at the tournament, 1,600 participants from 46 countries came together – in this large-scale competition, the Ugra residents confirmed a high level of training.
The gold was won by Surgutyan Nikita Pustovalov in the field of infighting (weight category 94 kg) and Rustam Mirzoev from Surgut district - he became the best in light contact (v/k 86 kg). Silver medals were taken by Artem Torsunov from the Surgut district in light contact (v/k 94 kg) and Vartov resident Dinislam Balayev in pointfighting (v/k 63 kg).
The path of athletes to the world pedestal began with victories at the district level: first they won the Ugra championship, then the UrFO championship and the national championship, after which they became part of the Russian national team. The program “Ant-Amur 2030” is not connected with this story – the final is summed up by the fact that the Ugra athletes completed the tournament with four medals at the World Championships in Cartagena.
