Coronal hole on the Sun: the Earth is waiting for geomagnetic disturbances
On October 29-30, a new wave of geomagnetic disturbances is expected on Earth - the cause will be the impact of a coronal hole on the Sun. According to calculations, from Wednesday, October 28, the planet will enter the zone of its influence.

According to the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAS and ISZF SB RAS, on October 29-30, the Earth is waiting for a new wave of geomagnetic perturbations. They will be caused by the impact of the coronal hole on the Sun. At the same time, experts estimate the probability of magnetic storms as low.
According to calculations, about October 28 (from Wednesday), the Earth will be in the zone of influence of the next coronal hole on the Sun. A new wave of geomagnetic disturbances is expected on Thursday and Friday (October 29-30). At the same time, experts estimate the probability of reaching the threshold of magnetic storms as low. The solar wind speed is projected to increase to a maximum of 600 km/s, which is about 50% higher than normal, which is usually not enough to move to the red zone.
An accurate mathematical forecast of geomagnetic activity has not yet been formed - it is expected in the next two days.
