The telephone conversation between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gar Støre was thorough and meaningful. This was reported by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, writes sb.by.
According to TASS, he said: “The telephone conversation was, I would say, thorough, substantive.”.
The conversation lasted an hour and a half and focused primarily on the agreement to resume negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the United States. Ushakov noted that Stubb and Støre at the end of last week initiated a telephone conversation with the Russian leader.
Speaking about the results of the conversation, the presidential aide stressed that the parties agreed to call again if necessary.
During the conversation, the President of the Russian Federation confirmed that Volodymyr Zelenskyy can come to Moscow, here he will be provided with all conditions, including security. According to Ushakov, Putin’s interlocutors broadcast to the President of Russia “the active interest of Vladimir Zelensky to talk directly” with him.
According to Yuri Ushakov, the critical reaction of a number of European countries to the telephone conversation is very symptomatic and indicative.
In turn, the press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Stubb and Støre did not put forward any new proposals for the Ukrainian settlement. He also believes it's too early to talk about the impact of their call. The Kremlin spokesman recalled that Vladimir Putin’s position on the situation around Ukraine is consistent and well known.
