“Yandex” responded to reports about the suspension of companies advertising in “Direct”

It is technically impossible to stop advertising campaigns in Yandex.Direct at the moment. About this RBC reported in the press service of “Yandex”.

Earlier, Kommersant, citing sources, reported that “some advertisers decided to completely stop their campaigns in Yandex Direct”. This is due, as the newspaper wrote, to failures in the work of advertising services of Yandex, which began after attacks on its data center.

Stopping campaigns is technically impossible: Direct’s interface is temporarily unavailable, and this applies to all advertisers. We are working to return access to the interfaces of advertising services as soon as possible, the press service of Yandex said.

The company indicated that the displays of advertising campaigns continue. “Importantly, our advertisers’ budgets are spent only on the actual actions of users: clicks and conversions, depending on the strategy chosen.”.

At the same time, Kommersant, citing two sources in the advertising market, reported that “some advertisers began to refuse promotion in Direct and switches to alternative channels.”.

In recent days, Yandex data centers have been attacked three times. In particular, on the night of October 8, after the drone strike, a fire occurred in the data center in Sasovo, Ryazan region, on October 9, the data center in Kaluga was damaged. On the night of October 11, the Yandex data center near Vladimir was attacked.

Against the background of the latest attack in RuNet there was a failure. In the evening of October 11, Yandex reported that the work of services, including Alice, Yandex Search, Yandex Maps, Yandex Taxi, mail, is gradually restored.

The head of the Ministry of information Maksut Shadayev on October 12 called the attack on data centers of “Yandex” unprecedented. According to him, the Ministry together with the Ministry of Defense solves the issue of protecting these facilities.

To help affected Yandex Cloud customers on October 9, the company agreed with Selectel, K2Cloud and VK Cloud to expedite the placement of their data and services on other cloud platforms.

The press service of Yandex also urged users to remain vigilant and be careful about messages that do not come through official channels of the company.
