In Paris held an auction of personal belongings of French actress Brigitte Bardot. Organizers raised almost €1 million, almost 20 times the estimated value (€50,000), according to The Guardian.
Among the most expensive lots are two dog collars, for which an unknown Russian buyer paid €9,400. Self-portrait of the actress sold for €40 thousand, typewriter - for €4.6 thousand, two guitars - for €8.6 thousand and €1.9 thousand, respectively, three soft toys in the form of baby seals - for almost €2.2 thousand.
The proceeds will be sent to the animal welfare fund founded by the actress. Her son Nicolas-Jacques Charrier will also receive some of the money. “This sale is a logical extension of the one she organized herself in 1987, selling her most valuable possessions to create the foundation,” said Ghislaine Kalmels, managing director of the Bardot Foundation.
A total of 285 lots were put up for auction. The widower of the actress Bernard d’Ormal was outraged by the sale of intimate objects of his wife. He said Brigitte Bardot wouldn't agree. The fund assured that the sale was approved by the board of directors.
