On the birthday of Lev Ilyich Ingor, Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR and the creator of the legendary "Kursk Waltz", in the capital of Solovyinsky Krai, a solemn opening of a memorial plaque took place. The author of the memorial sign was the famous Kursk sculptor Yuri Kireev.
The memorial was placed on the facade of the regional Palace of Culture. This building is particularly significant: Ingori personally participated in his restoration after the liberation of Kursk, and later for many years led the ensemble of the song here.
The opening ceremony was attended by Lidia Grigorievna Devyanina, who for a long time headed the Palace of Pioneers and schoolchildren. She was not only personally acquainted with the composer, but also sang in his famous choir.
Leo Ingori was not a chicken by birth, but he became one in spirit. He moved to Kursk in 1937, graduated from a music school and began teaching there. The composer’s Peru owns more than 60 songs, most of which are written on the poems of Kursk poets, said Alexander Khinstein, who took part in the opening of the memorial plaque to the composer.
He also proposed to work out the possibility of making the Kursk Waltz the official anthem of the city and submit the issue to a popular vote.
