In the estate near Moscow Gorenka completed the restoration of the Alexander hall — one of the key ceremonial rooms of the palace complex

In the Gorenka estate near Moscow, the restoration of the Alexander Hall, one of the key ceremonial rooms of the palace complex, was completed. About the results of the work told the channel 360.ru.
Specialists managed to recreate the historical appearance of the hall: the ceiling painting, gilded stucco and decorative baguette were returned. As it turned out in the course of the work, fragments of ancient painting with rocky motifs have been preserved under the suspended ceiling - they became a reference point for restoring lost details.
Artist Alexei Roganov, who has been engaged in the restoration of the palace for many years, noted that the reconstruction was carried out from archival photos. Due to this, the ceiling is again decorated with two shell-shaped compositions, and on the sides of them are plots from ancient mythology, which were part of the decoration at the first owners of the estate.
Special attention was required by the decorative baguette. “There are 30 centimeters left of this baguette – from a small narrow part that was once restored.” I had to make a cast and restore the full picture on it, Roganov said.
The master also participated in the work in the Golden Hall, where on the doors of Karelian birch it was possible to return brass linings in the form of lions. The restoration of Gorenok continues, and the Alexander Hall was another step towards returning the estate to its historical appearance.
