French president finds 10% of Arabs’ gas and diesel fuel needed in winter
French President Emmanuel Macron in Qatar on October 22 completed a three-day tour of the Arab monarchies of the Persian Gulf. The main result was an agreement to supply diesel fuel and liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE in the amount of about 10% of French imports during the winter. In Qatar, Macron agreed on the supply of 2 TWh of LNG to the French market (or about 200 million cubic meters). This amount is equivalent to 7% of monthly gas consumption by France, the second largest gas importer in the EU in September.
