The Ministry of Finance is ready to soften the tax bill in terms of ZPIFs
The Ministry of Finance is discussing with business the adjustment to the second reading of the tax bill, introduced together with the draft budget, in terms of taxation of closed mutual funds (ZPIF). The agency is ready to make concessions and keep the current mechanism, which involves paying the tax only at the time of repayment or sale of shares, for a number of ZPIFs, two federal officials told Vedomosti. According to one of them, these are funds that pay almost all of their income less operating expenses within a year of receiving it. Another federal official says the amendments will affect only a tenth of zPIFs in the market, which are used by retail buyers for investment purposes. At the same time, the discussion on finalizing the norms of the bill continues, Vedomosti’s interlocutors draw attention to.
