In Moscow, two plants for drying silt sludge will be built at the Lyubertsky and Kuryanovsky sewage treatment plants. Their total capacity will be at least 900 thousand tons per year, and the resulting biofuel is used in industry. The facilities are being built under a concession agreement with the Moscow government, the project is being implemented by Grintech LLC. This was reported by the press service of JSC Bank Dom.RF, which finances the construction. The total amount of financing from the bank will exceed 34 billion rubles.
Plants will dry dehydrated sludge formed during the treatment of household and municipal wastewater. After processing, it is planned to be used as biofuel in the process furnaces of cement plants - as an alternative energy source.
The construction will complement the existing technological chain of processing, neutralization and dehydration of precipitation with a drying stage. The subsequent use of dried sludge in industry, as noted in the message of the Bank, should ensure complete waste-free treatment plants.
Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow Anatoly Garbuzov linked the project with the modernization of the municipal infrastructure of the city. According to him, the introduction of new technologies allows to increase the efficiency of its work and reduce the amount of waste generated. “The resulting product can be used in industry as an alternative energy source,” added Garbuzov.
The Bank has already allocated almost 28 billion rubles for construction and installation works, technological connection and purchase of equipment, said Deputy Chairman of the Board of Bank Dom.RF Alexander Aksakov. He noted that the concession mechanism helps regions attract private investment for infrastructure development and gives advantages in financing capital-intensive projects. “Construction of facilities for drying silt sludge for treatment facilities will certainly contribute to improving the quality of life in Moscow,” Aksakov assured.
