Residents of the special economic zone (SEZ Technopolis Moscow for the first half of 2026 invested 157.5 billion rubles in the development of microelectronics). The volume of investments compared to the previous half of the year increased thereby by 11.7 times. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.
According to him, during the entire period of operation of the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow, private investments in the microelectronics industry reached 389.3 billion rubles. The funds were used for construction, development, modernization and expansion of production capacities.
“On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city provides large-scale support to high-tech and knowledge-intensive industries, such as microelectronics, which contributes to the activity of investors,” said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Liksutov. Today, more than 30 SEZ residents provide the capital and Russian market with domestic electronic components, optical devices and equipment.
Among the projects in the field of microelectronics already implemented on the basis of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone is the first mass production of optical transceivers using chip-on-board (COB) technology based on photonic integrated circuits in Russia. The products are intended for the domestic telecommunications industry, including 5G networks. More than 5.8 billion rubles were invested in the creation of production.
Also in the capital SEZ launched the country's first robotic line of serial production of liquid crystal display modules. Investments in this project amounted to 1.4 billion rubles. The line will provide screens for enterprises in various industries, including transport.
Another resident of Technopolis Moscow opened the production of charging modules for electric transport and power supplies for server equipment based on the domestic component base. Power units are designed for data centers, where they process big data and solve artificial intelligence problems. The power modules will be used to develop a network of fast charging stations for urban and personal electric transport.
Companies are also investing in new developments. In 2026, one of the residents producing radio electronic equipment introduced a quantum sensor for space research and a mini-shuttle for delivering cargo from orbit to Earth. The sensor is designed to study the formation of space dust. The mini-shuttle is designed as a compact vehicle capable of returning to Earth with a payload.
SEZ Technopolis Moscow was founded in 2006. Over 20 years of existence, according to the Moscow authorities, the project has transformed from a launch pad for innovative projects into a key hub of the domestic high-tech industry. Today, at ten sites of the special economic zone with a total area of 430 hectares, the production of more than 250 high-tech enterprises representing such strategic areas as microelectronics, instrumentation, biomedicine, IT and robotics is localized. The development of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow is carried out by the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the capital.
