90 hectares of vegetables: how state support helped a farmer from Chuvashia to develop a business

Alexander Tolstov from the Morgaush district continued his father’s work and expanded the farm with the help of state grants. The basis of the business was laid by Alexander Tolstov Sr., one of the first farmers of the district, who started his own business at zero.

In 2019, the younger Tolstov won a grant to novice farmers for 1.5 million rubles. The funds went to the reconstruction of the vegetable store. In 2025, he received another grant for the development of the economy in the amount of 9 million rubles, on which a potato storage facility with a microclimate system was built.

Today, the farm has 60 hectares of potatoes and 30 hectares of other vegetables. “Thank you for your support,” the farmer said.
