Agrarians of Dagestan collected 180 thousand tons of grapes

The grape harvest in Dagestan in 2026 amounted to 180 thousand tons. This writes “Interfax” with reference to the data of the Committee on viticulture and alcohol regulation of the Republic.

Grape harvesting in Dagestan began in mid-August and continues to this day. The figure for the current date is lower than last year. Earlier it was reported that the republic in 2026 expected to collect 280 thousand tons of grapes.

The decrease in the harvest in the committee was explained by the consequences of spring floods: vineyards were flooded, the root system was damaged, there was no possibility to carry out chemical treatment, which led to the growth of weeds. Due to these circumstances, the planned harvest in 2026 is expected to be lower than last year.

The total area of grape plantations in the republic is about 28 thousand hectares. In the spring of this year, the laying of vineyards was not carried out due to floods, in autumn it is planned to lay 500 hectares.
