Belarus and Uzbekistan plan to expand exchange trade in textile products
Regular mutual supplies of raw materials and materials for the textile industry through the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange can become a new point of growth.

Regular mutual supplies of raw materials for the textile industry through the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange may become a new point of growth in the volume of exchange trade between Belarus and Uzbekistan. This will also contribute to the more active use of the opportunities of the Belarusian electronic platform by Uzbek businesses. This opinion was expressed by Yaroslav Kovalchuk, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic Affairs of BUCE, during a meeting with a delegation of textile enterprises of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Details sb.by reported in the press service of the exchange.

- According to data for 8 months of 2026, 65 percent of the total amount of transactions of Uzbek companies accredited at our site accounted for the purchase of Belarusian timber products, primarily lumber. In value terms, this is $ 65 million, which is almost a third more than in the same period last year. In addition, the demand of Uzbek participants for powdered milk of Belarusian production has significantly increased. The growth rate of sales by January-August 2025 reached 169%, said Yaroslav Kovalchuk.

- Another promising direction of exchange trade with Uzbekistan I consider the products of the textile industry. In particular, cotton yarn and polyester threads are in great demand in Belarus, which, by the way, are already being sold at auction by Uzbek producers. At the same time, compared to last year, the amount of transactions has increased significantly, which indicates a significant potential for scaling. In turn, Belarusian enterprises are ready to supply linen fiber to the Uzbek market, which today is one of the most popular commodity items among foreign importers. I am confident that such mutually beneficial cooperation will not only have a positive impact on the dynamics of exchange trade between Belarus and Uzbekistan, but also give an additional impetus to the development of bilateral trade and economic relations.

Special attention during the meeting with Uzbek enterprises was paid to exchange trading of industrial and consumer goods, which sell a wide range of non-primary goods, as well as opportunities to work on the exchange through professional participants - stock brokers, thereby outsourcing transactions.
As of September 23, 2026, 305 residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan were accredited at BUCE, including 2 companies with the status of stock brokers. Since the beginning of the year, 53 new participants from Uzbekistan have come to the Belarusian exchange platform. Since the beginning of 2026, BUCE has implemented construction works and services for из 70 million
